Migrants and diaspora

Co-developpement Enhance the positive role of migrants
for the social, economic and cultural development
of the country of origin and host countries.

Diasporas play and will go on playing an increasingly important role in conflict resolution, crisis management and international development financing in their countries of origin as well as in their host countries. From populations victims of history hazards, diaspora actors turn into positive effects of globalization, becoming vector of a cosmopolitan model within the social, economic and political issues of the globalized big cities where they live, as of their territories of origin.

For the first time, the Salon Des Solidarités is dedicating a specific area to migrants and diasporas. A relevant programme will go together with this area, with a view to promoting exemplary actions and strengthening actors in the implementation of their projects.

This course aims to:

  • strengthen initiatives made by migrants and their local partners,
  • provide support to migrants' economic projects and / or to migrants wishing to start a business in their country of origin,
  • support youth initiatives and migrant associations, holders of local development projects and / or linking the two territories,
  • enhance and disseminate the work of migrants in favor of joint development,
  • offer multi-stakeholder meetings,
  • strengthen networking.

It will also return to the Arab spring.
